Logistics Services Provider Recognized for Supporting E-Commerce Growth for Performance Sock Brand Feetures

HICKORY, N.C. (June 16, 2021) – Transportation Insight, a North American leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions for manufacturers, retailers and distributors received the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 2021 Top Supply Chain Project Award. Transportation Insight is recognized for services provided to Feetures, a performance sock brand that pivoted distribution strategies to meet exponential e-commerce demand growth during the pandemic peak season of 2020.

“The dramatic shift from commercial brick and mortar purchases to residential e-commerce purchases created a strain on many retailers. Fulfillment accuracy and speed to customer are critical, but it is costly to live up to customer expectations,” says John Haber, president of the small parcel division at Transportation Insight. “We help our customers initiate operational pivots that improve their e-commerce shipping performance in the face of significant challenges to their profitability. This award is a tribute to the significant role hybrid-digital solutions will play for shippers in the future. “

The Top Supply Chain Project Awards (formerly known as SDCE 100) spotlights successful and innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across a range of supply chain functions. These projects show how supply chain solution and service providers help their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence and prepare their supply chains for success.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Feetures experienced exponential business growth and rapid supply chain transformation. With products distributed through major sporting goods retailers, specialty stores and their direct-to-consumer channel, Feetures engaged Transportation Insight to provide a supply chain assessment including value stream mapping, LEAN consulting, analysis of fulfillment center practices and transportation network processes, indirect sourcing and small parcel auditing.

“Transportation Insight has been instrumental in providing supply chain expertise and recommendations that allow us to realize more value from our existing supply chain framework,” says Tos Rostan, Feetures chief financial officer.

Among benefits, Feetures quadrupled the daily output of its fulfillment center, while Transportation Insight’s sourcing division delivered significant savings on packaging supplies essential to e-commerce shipping.

“The supply chain industry has been challenged with a host of supply chain disruptions over the last year. Yet, the winners on this list continued to re-tool and innovate,” says Marina Mayer, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Whether it be moving a customer to a cloud-based solution or implementing a more sustainable shipping option, these top supply chain projects reflect the supply chain industry’s strength and resilience to overcome disruptions and work better, smarter and more efficiently in the years ahead.”
