Transportation Insight Lands on the Inc. 500|5000 for 6th Straight Year
HICKORY, NC (August 27, 2013) – By achieving 106% sales growth since 2009, Transportation Insight has entrenched its position among the nation’s top third-party logistics (3PL) providers with its sixth consecutive appearance on the exclusive Inc. 500|5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States.
Inc. Magazine ranks the Inc. 500|5000 according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. Transportation Insight’s rapid growth in the last three years is a considerable achievement for a company in business since 1999. Chairman and Founder Paul Thompson attributes the company’s continued expansion to its focus on client retention, new client acquisition and strategic investments. “Through turbulent economic conditions, we have maintained our investment strategy in human capital and innovative technology, and we are seeing the results of staying that course,” Thompson says. “We pride ourselves on our ability to help our clients to continuously improve their operations and grow faster than the economy.”
As companies mature, many of them find it challenging to grow as quickly as they did at start up. In year 14, Transportation Insight continues to advance its business and fortify its place on the Inc. honor roll. This year the global supply chain management firm received national recognition for Extended LEAN™, its continuous improvement methodology for the supply chain that connects industry-wide value streams. Responding to clients’ needs for big data and mobile supply chain analytics, the 3PL rolled out its new interactive web portal Insight Fusion™.
To meet the growing market demand for complex end-to-end supply chain solutions, Transportation Insight broadened its service offerings for supply chain consulting and network optimization, international logistics and warehousing sourcing. In 2013, the lead logistics provider became the first 4PL asked to join IWLA, the International Warehouse Logistics Association. Transportation Insight also acquired Connecticut-based logistics company CPA International in late 2012 to bolster its North American presence.
By appearing on the prestigious Inc. 500|5000 list six straight years, Transportation Insight is part of an exclusive group – less than 20% of the companies on the 2013 list – that can make this claim. Transportation Insight also celebrated recognition this year in Logistics Quarterly as a Top 40 3PL and in Inbound Logistics magazine and Food Logistics magazine as a Top 100 3PL.
“We are honored to receive such great national accolades. Transportation Insight continues to succeed because of our people and their willingness to go the extra mile for our clients,” Thompson adds. “Our competitive advantage in the marketplace is that our people are executing better than the competition with a dedication to help our clients win.”
As a member of the Inc. 500|5000 list, Transportation Insight shares alumni status with innovative companies such as Under Armour, Zappos, Microsoft and Oracle, to name a few.
